Those Little Details...

Over the years, we've had the pleasure of catering to and attending many spectacular weddings. We know our poor brides and grooms go to lengths to make their day memorable, so we thought it may be helpful if we compiled a list of those pesky little details which make your special day feel extra special. A few months ago, we polled our Facebook fans, friends, and clients for their answers. Here's what we came up with:

1. The small touches of love: Personalization goes a long way. Items that show off your personalities, your theme colors, and your names, do exactly that: showcase you! After all, it's your day! Throw a little extra love into matching accessories, matching colors, uniquely you centerpieces or conversation pieces, and more. We've seen a few couples have large painted cardboard letters of their initials or the word L-O-V-E. We've also seen weddings with relationship mementos scattered at each table - how sentimental!

2. A venue with a little oomph! Wherever you get married, you want it to be lovely, particularly since it will serve as the backdrop for all those wedding photos. The most interesting venues we've seen include manors, museums, and other unusual locations. But we've also seen dramatic transformations done in churches and community centers. Budgeting can also be beautiful! Adding a few extra lights and drapes can make a big difference.

3. The food: Some couples use the banquet as a chance to integrate their own cultural or favorite cuisines. We've seen half-Korean, half-Chinese banquets, along with the occasional sushi station. We've also seen candy bars, cookie bars, dessert bars, and more! At Four Seasons, it's important for us to ensure that our food reflects our clients' tastes. If you're looking for something in particular, just ask!

4. Thoughtful use of space: Everyone keeps different company, and sometimes those companies don't quite match up! When determining seating, it's important to keep in mind your guests' personalities, marital status, relationship to the bride and groom, and (yes) drinking inclinations. You'll want to carefully join groups of family and friends so that each wedding table will be full of laughs and like-minded people. However, it's also important to mix it up! A wedding is a fantastic opportunity for both sides of the families and friends to meet, eat, drink, and be merry!

5. Something to keep them on their toes: Some couples plan a choreographed dance to stun their guests with their fancy footwork. Some couples have an elegant waltz, and some couples shake things up a little. Some use it to surprise their better half! Take a look at this popular YouTube video of a surprise Justin Bieber wedding dance, courtesy of the groom and his groomsmen! The bride and the guests are sure enjoying the show!

6. A token to take with you: Recently, the trend has been all about photobooths and treat bars. We love the idea of photobooths because both the guests and the couple get to keep a photo memento of the occasion. We also love treat bars (such as candy, cookie, cupcake, and more) because the guests often get to take home a delicious favor!

Extra special weddings are a lot of hard work. Our brides and grooms know exactly how much work goes into any wedding! After so much love and labor, every wedding we attend is memorable! :)
